JACK MANUEL TOP SCORES BUT ENGLAND GO DOWN

Jack Manuel top scored with 43 as England ended their Under 19 World Cup campaign with a close 2 wicket defeat to hosts New Zealand.

England were taken into the 7th/8th play off against New Zealand after defeats to West Indies in the quarter finals then India on Sunday. England had previously won all three group games against Afghanistan, Hong Kong and India.

Tamworth and newly contracted to Worcestershire player Manuel, only managed games against India in the group games and the final game against the hosts.

Jack certainly took his chance to impress against New Zealand with a classy knock against some useful bowling as England reached 228 for 9. The hosts reached their target with two wickets and two balls to spare.
